Marvick Janse van Rensburg
Marvick graduated in 2006 at the University of Pretoria with a first class Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BEng Civil). His working career commenced at MDCC in 2007.
Marvick obtained his BEng (Hons) (Structural Engineering) degree at the University of Pretoria at the end of 2010 and his BEng (Hons)(Water Utilisation) in 2012. He is a Registered Professional Engineer, a member of SAICE and an Associate Member of the Water Institute of South Africa and Association of Arbitrators.
He has gained extensive experience in civil/structural engineering and process engineering for both commercial and industrial sectors. He is a specialist structural and process engineer.
Marvick was appointed as a Director of MDCC in September 2012 and Managing Director in March 2016.
Chairman / Director Civils and Operations
Ahmed has worked in the civil engineering industry since 1987 when he joined Stocks Civils as a trainee technician. In 1990 he joined FHV as a Civil Technician. Since April 2000 Ahmed is the Chairman and a Director of MDCC and is responsible for Civils and Operations.
Ahmed has gained a broad base of experience in many aspects of township infrastructure, development engineering, project management and roads in the consulting and construction industry. He has been involved in the design and management of various projects.
Nico has been involved in the architectural field since 1985 when he joined DLV to work in their architectural division, where he was involved in various medical, industrial and commercial projects in the Gauteng area.
He joined Exelarch Designs in 1999 as head architect until 2004 when he joined MDCC as Project Architect. Nico has worked on various commercial, residential, medical and educational buildings in the North West and Gauteng regions. Nico was appointed as a Director of MDCC in March 2005.
Director Development Management
Johan has extensive experience in the Structural and Civil Engineering industry. His experience goes back to 1979 when he joined SNA as an Assistant Design Engineer – Roads. In 1981 he joined FHV in Klerksdorp, North West Province. In 1985 he was appointed Managing Partner. From April 2000 to February 2016, Johan was Managing Director of MDCC. He is now Director Development Management.
He has gained wide experience covering the full spectrum of structures, sanitation, including treatment, water systems including pump stations, pipelines and purification works.
Johan has been actively involved as leading project manager and principal agent in commercial developments since 1998, with experience covering convenience centres, big box retail, value centres and regional shopping centres. Johan has a proven track record for delivering commercial developments on time and within budget. He has experience in all engineering issues, cost control, shopping centre layout and feasibility studies.
Director Legal Services
Najma obtained her BA LLB at University of the Witwatersrand in 1989 and 1991. She practiced as an attorney until 2004. She then joined Senwes as their Compliance Officer and Legal Advisor. She has been working for MDCC since 2008 as Director Legal Services.
Jan has gained extensive experience in Municipal Services since he graduated in 1973. He commenced work at the Department of Agricultural Engineering in Pretoria where he was involved in engineering projects for soil conservation and irrigation. He later joined private consulting engineers in 1974 tasked with the design of road and stormwater structures for provincial and national roads.
In 1975 he joined local government (City of Matlosana) attending to the full scope of civil engineering services for master planning, design, project management, operation and maintenance. He advanced through the ranks to the position of Deputy Manager Civil Engineering. He joined MDCC in 2008.
From November 1980 until August 2005 Herman managed his own building and construction enterprise with 120 full-time employees. Since joining MDCC in 2005 as Project Manager he has gained wider experience in architecture, civil and structural engineering.
Herman has been actively involved as project manager and principal agent in various developments since 2005 such as hospitals, convenience centres, big box retail and value centres. He also deals with mining departments and various government departments on provincial and national level.
Joythie studied Architectural Technology at Durban University of Technology (formerly Technikon Natal). Upon graduating in 1998, Joythie gained experience in architectural technology under the mentorship of key contributors to the field of Architecture. After 8 successful years in Durban, she made the decision to explore the architectural field in Ireland and relocated to Dublin in 2005. Joythie returned to South Africa at the end of 2008 after 3 exciting years in Dublin and was immediately employed by KMH Architects where she spent the next 8 years being mentored and gaining invaluable experience in the South African construction industry. In her quest for further professional development, she joined the team at MDCC in early 2016.
Cobus joined Ninham Shand Consulting Engineers in 1996 as a technical student. He graduated in 1997 and continued his employment with Ninham Shand where he obtained valuable experience in Civil as well as Structural Engineering.
Cobus joined MDCC in 2004. He has gained extensive experience in the Civil and Structural Engineering fields. In 2006 he relocated to Brits where he acted as the Office Manager for the newly-opened branch office for MDCC until the end of 2008.
In January 2010 he re-joined the MDCC team in Klerksdorp as a Senior Technician. He successfully completed his studies for a B-Tech Civil Engineering degree and is currently employed at MDCC as a Civil Technologist.
Francois qualified from the Central University of Technology in July 2002. He joined Eskom in July 2002 and then joined NKP Group based in Middelburg, Mpumalanga in April 2003. In April 2008 Francois started his career at MDCC where he gained experience in the civil engineering field. He has gained extensive experience in the design of civil infrastructure, services and project execution. He has successfully completed his studies for a B-Tech Civil Engineering degree and is currently employed at MDCC as a Civil Technologist.
Luciano obtained his National Diploma from Central University of Technology in December 2007. He joined LMV in September 2008 and joined the MDCC team in November 2016 as a Civil Technician.
Luciano has experience in Road design, Bulk Earthworks design, Sewer and water pipeline design, Flood estimation and routing, Design of steel and concrete structures, Site supervision and Technical report writing
Roelof de Jager
Roelof obtained his Bachelor of Architecture in 2015 at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. He joined MDCC in January 2014 as a Candidate Architectural Technologist for two years. He completed his MTech at University of Johannesburg in 2017. As a junior architect he has been exposed to various projects in terms of scope and scale. For many of the projects he has been involved with, he was tasked with modelling and visualising the project to provide our clients with a better understanding of his design.
Gladwin studied Architectural Technology at Tshwane University of Technology (formerly Pretoria Technikon). Upon graduating in 2011, he gained experience in architectural technology at an established firm in Klerksdorp. He thereafter decided to explore the architectural field in Johannesburg. Gladwin was employed by GASS Architecture Studios in 2016. While employed at GASS, Gladwin completed a degree in Project Management. He joined the team at MDCC as an Architectural Technologist in 2017.
Carmen graduated from the Universtiy of the Free State in 2010 with a M.Arch. Prof. and was initially employed in 2011 in a firm specialising in retail design. She joined MDCC in November 2016. She has worked with various developers, and other built environment professionals, on both large and small-sized retail projects and developments, and has thus been involved from conceptual design to close-out. She is especially interested in refurbishment projects.
Design Technologist (Civil/Urban)
Christopher obtained his BTech (Urban) in Civil Engineering at Tshwane University of Technology in 2009. He joined MDCC in 2016.
He has gained experience in the design of structures, civil infrastructure, commercial civil infrastructure, and project management. He has been exposed to large scale projects, nationally and internationally. He has a keen interest in urban development strategies as well as the movement of people and ease of mode of transport systems. He is currently completing his Honours degree, part-time, at Pretoria University.
Candidate Architectural Technologist
Idelette obtained her BSc Architecture degree from the University of Pretoria in 2017. She joined MDCC in January 2018 as an architectural intern. During her studies she was exposed to a variety of projects, including community centres, student housing, residential and group urban design projects.
Design Engineer (Civil)
Louisa-Mari obtained her BEng degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pretoria in 2013. She was employed by consulting Civil and Structural Engineering firms where she was exposed to commercial, residential and industrial design. She has also been involved with a few renovation projects. Louisa-Mari joined MDCC in December 2017. She is involved in all the project stages and enjoys the challenges presented by refurbishments of existing structures.
Nandi du Toit
Design Technician (Civil)
Nandi obtained her National Diploma in Civil Engineering at UNISA in 2016. From 2010 to 2012 she was employed at a firm in Rustenburg specialising in retail design. In 2013 she joined a Traffic and Civil Engineering company as a junior engineer. In 2016 she moved to Namibia where she started her own engineering firm. In 2017, Nandi relocated to South Africa and joined MDCC. She has been exposed to various new and existing retail projects and developments and is especially interested in structural design.

Managing Director – MDCC NIGERIA
LLB/Juris – Commercial Law (Texas)
Frank has been involved in establishing various property and logistics companies in Africa.
He is a Trustee of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO), Johannesburg, South Africa and of the Nigeria – South Africa Chamber of Commerce(NSACC).
He was also involved in the Training / Co-ordination for the Nigerian Niger-Delta Amnesty Programme, STC-SA, Cape Town.
Frank joined MDCC as Managing Director to the Nigerian office in 2013.
Managing Director – MDCC INDIA
Guarav is a Management and Business Development professional with experience in diverse industries ranging from ITES to Geospatial and Engineering. He obtained an Executive MBA from Karnataka State University.
He spent his initial years gaining experience in the ITES industry and handled Operations, Quality, Training, Business Development and Account Management with companies like Convergys and others. Since 2008, he has been active in Management Consulting and has been associated with the Luminous Group as Consultant for their Geospatial and Engineering Services.
He became part of the MDCC team in September 2014.
